Happenings at St. Mary's

First Communion

A class of eleven students received their First Eucharist on Saturday, May 9. The weather cooperated. Father Antone offered the Mass and each of the students participated, doing the readings, the intercessions and bringing up the gifts. A special thanks to Mary D'amico, Frances Fairweather and Linda Ridzi for their help in preparing the children. Pictured at the reception afterwards is Andrew Ralicki and his big sister, Katie.

Changes for 2009:

The New Year has bought changes in our parish. Since Sunday, January 4, we have two weekend liturgies, a 5PM Vigil Mass on Saturday and a 10 AM Mass on Sunday. These times were determined during the eighteen month “Called to Be Church” process. The decisions of our Bishop Howard J. Hubbard were announced a few weeks ago and can be found at www.rcda.org

In short, our parish will link with St. Henry’s in Averill Park and Immaculate Conception /St. Josephs, New Lebanon. The pastor of St. Henry’s, Fr. John Provost will be our pastor as Fr. Antone retires, but continues to assist in the Sacramental Ministry here.

Fr. Antone will also offer two daily Masses a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays...
An additional weekday Mass will be offered by Father Provost on Wednesday
.

On Monday and Friday a member of our staff will provide a Communion Service. We hope that our parishioners will understand the reasons for these difficult decisions and make every effort to attend Mass here at our Parish. Your continued support and presence is essential to the viability of St. Mary’s.
