Happenings at St. Mary's
Birthday Blessings to our Pastor:
Even though you may not hear these words as often as you should, Fr. Antone, you are loved very much and your Parish family sends special wishes for your happiness as you celebrate another birthday on Saturday, May 10.
You will be celebrating with our First Communicants in the morning and then baptizing Samantha Ana-Veronica Sinacore at the 5PM Mass.
God bless you on your birthday and may God continue to bless us with your presence.
Parishioners Participate in Pope's Visit
Parishioners Frances Fairweather and her daughter Catherine Fairweather traveled by bus to the Bronx, NYC for the Mass offered by Pope Benedict XVI. The Evangelist selected their names from a raffle held earlier this year. Buses left La Salle Institute at 4:30 AM on Sunday morning, arriving at Yankee Stadium at 8:00 AM. Doors opened at 9:00 AM. The day included a concert with many artists including Ronan Tynan, Harry Connick Jr., Jose Feliciano. Also entertaining were the West Point Choir, and several groups from New York City schools. The day culminated with the Pope's arrival by Pope mobile and the Mass. The day was very chilly, with many pilgrims buying Yankee sweatshirts or wrapping themselves up in plastic panchos to ward off the winds. It was the experience of a lifetime for the Fairweather ladies.

Annual Chinese Auction
St. Mary's Parish Hall was the scene of our annual Chinese Auction on Saturday evening, Nov. 3.
There were over 200 prizes including many attractive
gift certificates to local restaurants and services.
In addition there was a 50/50 raffle and twenty beautiful door prizes.
Profits from the event totaled $2,775. Thanks to all of our friends who helped with donations and work. Thanks to the cooks for the wonderful chili, mac and cheese and countless cupcakes and brownies!
